How to run a Halloween quiz night
- Split everyone into teams of up to six. Fancy dress is optional, but a prize for the best costume gets people in the mood.
- Read each question twice, then give teams about 30 seconds before the next one.
- At the end of the round, give teams a minute to finish, then swap answer sheets with the next table for marking.
- One point per correct answer. Read out the scores after every round so the leaders feel the pressure.
- Keep a tie-breaker ready where the closest number wins, such as a year or a date.
Tips for a pub or club quiz
- A six-round quiz takes about 75 to 90 minutes with breaks.
- Many pubs charge £1 to £2 per player and give a bar tab or a bottle as the prize.
- Mix easy and hard questions in every round, so younger players and casual teams can still score.
- For a Zoom quiz, share the questions on screen and have teams send answers by private chat.
